- Course objectives
- The course will be focused on the development of skills to translate longer target texts with specific functions.
At the end of this course, students should be able:
to use correct methods and techniques in individual stages of translating;
to use correct macrostrategies;
to understand different genres;
to understand different cognitive-semantic strategies of mind-construction;
to interpret different communicative function of genres;
to create adequate communicative translat. - Syllabus

- Homework. The main stess will be put on some techniques to optimize text (different wording, digression, cutting, shift of point, shift in speaking perspective).

- Information on completion of the course: Kurz je zakončen zkouškou (platí pro studenty Literatury a mezikulturní komunikace) nebo písemným kolokviem (platí pro všechny ostatní studenty).
The course is taught annually.
General note: Pro posluchače oboru LMK je předmět povinný a přístupný od 2. semestru studia; pro posluchače bohemistiky předmět povinně volitelný (kredit B) s prerekvizitou absolvovaného kurzu Teorie překladu, pro ostatní volitelný (kred.C) se stejnou prerekvizitou.
