Course objectives
In this course the students learn the basics of practical Dutch language. The student ought to reach the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This includes all four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The student acquires a basic vocabulary as well.

Teaching methods
Seminars (8 hours a week).
Assessment methods
The students have 8 hours a week week in the form of class exercises. Requirements: Attendance in the lessons, handing in homework on time. The students have to pass all separate written tests during the term. They have to achieve at least 75 % for each test. The minitests for vocabulary cannot be repeated and the students have to achieve at least 75%, They can repeat the test only once. There is also a final credit test at the end of the term (in the examination period). The students are allowed to write the final test when they fulfill the requirements and the separate tests.
