Course objectives
The course is only for foreign students of bachelor, master and doctoral programs with a strong interest in a topic or historical period and theory of Czech literature. It has a form of individual and/or group tutorials with regards to particular needs of the students; the topics must be consulted with the teacher.
After finishing the course the students will be able to:
understand chosen topics of Czech literature in detail;
interpret chosen literary artworks of particular historical periods of Czech literature;
understand principles and strategies of interculture communication and translation;
use the gain knowledge for writing their diploma thesis and dissertations.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student will be able to: • - comprehend the source text and analyse it on all levels; • - formulate skopos target communication; • - formulate skopos target text; • - define the main strategies of their translation method; • - apply creative methods in the translation process justify their own decisions on how to translate a given text.

  • The genaral characteristics of a chosen topic.
  • The recents stage of investigation in the particular literary field, its restrictions and challenges.
  • Consultations on the chosen topic(s).
