The aim of the course is to present and discuss different aspects of the journalistic text, to introduce the peculiarities of journalistic practice to the students and to demonstrate them on the readings of predominantly contemporary Italian journalistic texts. During the course, concepts such as infotainment, news, investigation, disinformation will be clarified and the particularities of some informative / opinion genres will be described. Furthermore, through the analysis of the journalistic article, some aspects of Italian civilization and culture will be explored.

Course objectives

Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be trained in reading Italian journalistic texts of various kinds, will be able to identify the strategies and functions of the press and will be enriched with some terms of the journalistic language.

Teaching methods
The course will be developed through seminar-type lessons that require the active participation of the student. The materials will be anticipated by the lecturer. Students will have to read them at home before class, except in specific cases.
Assessment methods
Given the practical aspect of the course, the participation in class is necessary. Active participation in at least 75% of the lessons (max three absences), the analysis of an article of your choice.
