Course objectives
The goal of the course is to introduce the students to the basic legal terms and current legal environment, to provide them with the necessary foundations that will help them act and decide in situations they will be facing in their common life and mainly in social education careers. The course will help the student identify which legal norm to use in order to find the necessary information in detail.
Learning outcomes
Student will after completing the course be able to:
- define basic legal terms (legal norm, statute, sources of law)
- decribe the system of courts in Czech Republic and determine issues about which this courts decide
- define constitutional system of Czech Republic
- apply gain knowledge from civil law on practical example (how to determine court on which fill an civil action)
- get oriented in legal norms of family law, social protection of child, criminal and asylum law

  • - Bill of Rights and Liberties
  • - Civil law and civil actions
  • - Family law and Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • - Social - legal child protection
  • - Criminal law and Juvenile law
  • - Asylum law nad migration

Credit: attend on lectures and seminars during the semestr and written test which in form of multiple choice verifies knowledge of discussed legal terms.
