Course objectives
The main objective of the course is mastery of a greater number of Japanese characters and the increase in the students vocabulary and kanji compounds.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, a student will be able to:
- analyze an unfamiliar kanji with a dictionary
- describe basic phonetic parts of a kanji
- describe and explain components of a single kanji

Teaching methods
Teoretical explanation of the meaning of characters combined with writing drills.
Assessment methods
Final written exam. Assignments given throughout the semester are preliminary for the actual exam.
