- Course objectives
- The seminar is taught jointly by Kateřina Maňáková (JAMU) and Vladimír Maňas. In short, its aim is to acquire knowledge and skills in the issues of older music culture with a focus on practical experience: under the guidance of Mgr. The students will be introduced to the issues of processing musical sources for the RISM database, while the other block seminars will focus on the interpretation of repertoire directly from contemporary sources (various types of choral notation, white mensural notation).
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
identify and apply individual notation types
master the basics of working and recording in RISM - Teaching methods
- Seminars with readings of musical sources, seminars devoted to the recording of sources within RISM
- Assessment methods
- Activity in seminars, final seminar work for the 1st semester
