- Course objectives
- Course description: The course will explore the changes in film art since the late 50s and will focuse on the movements in the cinemas of the Western Europe: the French "nouvelle vague", the impulse of the British "Free Cinema" movement, the New German cinema, the Scandinavian cinema etc. Literature: Collet, Jean: Jean-Luc Godard (Praha 1969); Douchet, Jean: French New Wave , New York 1999; Murphy, Robert: Sixties British Cinema (London 1992); Płażewski, Jerzy: Historia filmu francuskiego (Warszawa 1994); Román o Françoisu Truffautovi (Praha 1989). Assessment: a list of 24 films to be discussed in class.
