- Course objectives
- Continuation of normative grammar of the Attic dialect of Ancient Greek. The main aims of the course are to deepen the knowledge of Ancient Greek grammar.
At the end of the course students should be able to: reproduce nominal and verbal paradigms studied within the course (vide syllabus of the course); explain grammatical rules studied within the course; translate easy Greek texts using a dictionary; explain the functions of selected syntactic structures; - Syllabus
- 1. Revision of strong aorist active 2. perfective condition 3. Week aorist 4. Future tense active and mediopassive 5. Personal, relative, demonstrative pronouns. 6. Comparison of adjectives and adverbs. 7. Consonant stems – explosive sounds. 8. Consonant stems – liquid sounds. 9. Irregular comparison of adjectives and adverbs. 10.Weak aorist passive. 11. Future passive. 12. Noun declination: nt-stems. 13. System of Greek participles.

- Lectures, practice (grammar exercises), reading of simple Greek texts, drill.

- The course ends with a written examination, which consist of translation of an authentic Greek text with the use of a dictionary and the grammatical test.
