- Abstract
- The course is directed on the basic theoretical and practical questions of phonetics and phonology, stock of Russian sounds, their combination theory, syllables, an accent, intonation. At the end of the course students should be able to use teoretical knowledge for practikal aims, understand and to explain general problems of an auxiliary linguistic discipline – phonetics, analyze the sound structure of languages and to characterize speech sounds according to their phonetic properties, explain principles of phonetic transcription and, moreover, to use it in their further study. On the basis of the knowledge acquired, they will be able to evaluate and recognize popular errors of spoken languages.
