Abstract
Lecture and seminar cycle should offer to the students the basic overwiew about the development of the Latin script at the period of the Early Middle Ages, it means since the VII. Century AD to the IX. Century AD. Students shoudl be able to distinguish the typ of the script and its dating as well as paleographic characteristic of the script, they shlould to make a paleographical analysis and comparison and transcription of medieval latin, german and czech texts. Very important is knowledge of the basic literature to the medieval Latin script including main editions/book series. At the end of the programme the student should be able to:
- use the knowledges from the development od the latin script from the VI.th Cent. to the IX.th Cent. on the historical sources
- transcribe selected original early Middle Ages Latin texts
- analyse and read original early Middle Ages Latin texts
