Course objectives
The course introduces basic morphological and syntactic phenomena of normative Latin grammar. Special attention is given to practical proficiency geared primarily toward reading comprehension of elementary Latin texts. At the end of the course students will: be able to demonstrate the knowledge of primary latin grammatic end have an understanding of the unknow texts.
Syllabus
  • Morphology: subjunctive mood, comparison of adjectives and adverbs, numerals, perfect system of verbs, pronouns (demonstrative and interrogative), irregular verbs. Syntax: indicative subordinate clauses (time and relative), direct questions.
