- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide the explanation of a well-known phenomenon, namely that there are expressions in Czech that show morphological, syntactic and semantic qualities prototypically associated with one of the parts of speech, but on the other hand expressions that show two qualities associated with one of the parts of speech but another one associated with another part of speech.
- Syllabus
- Two basic approaches towards analyzing those mixed categories will be dealt with in the seminar: (a) lexikalistic approach, (b) transformationalistic approach. For a), Spencer’s analysis will be used, for b), Distributed Morphology analysis.
