Course objectives
The aim of the course is the introduction to business correspondence with examples of formal letters and faxes, contemporary vocabulary and constructions from the area of business contacts with Russian speaking partners and common terminology from the sphere of economics and finance.
Students learn the basic vocabulary and phrases, they learn to form independently letters according to given criteria, they will practice skills of written and oral simultaneous translation of letters.

  • Business correspondence – from the formal point of view. Differences between Czech and Russian correspondence. Official letters. Announcement. Invitation. Request. Acknowledgement. Demand note. Confirmation. Accompanying letter. Business letters. Business demand and response. Business offer and reply. Order and response. Warranty claim, arbitration. Warranty. Authorization.
