Course objectives
The course Practical exercises in Orthography II is a continuation of Practical exercises in Ortography II. Students will practice writing i/y after soft, hard and ambiguous consonants, exceptions, endings of substantives, adjectives and verbs, diacritical signs, dictations, writing ú/ů/u, prefixes s-z, groups: bě/bje – pě - vě/vje – mě/mně, double consonants. New subjects: punctuation, writing capital letters and words taken from foreign languages. Students will write exercises and dictations. The aim of the course is to improve and enrich knowledge obtained in CJQ002 and introduce new ortographical phenomena.
Syllabus
  • Subjects from seminar CJQ002 and CJQ010 and new subject matters will be practiced: 1/ punctuation in a simple sentence 2/ punctuation in a complex sentence 3/ writing capital letters 4/ writing foreign words Theory will be completed with practical exercises (collective work during lessons) and short tests.

Teaching methods
Theory will be completed with practical exercises (collective work during lessons) and short tests + homeworks.
Assessment methods
Final written test. Besides the test, the following rules must be observed: 1/ In order to successfully finish the course, student's participation in the course must be at least 75 %. If student's participation drops below 75 %, he will not be allowed to write the final test. 2/ The students fullfils all tasks given by the teacher (homeworks, presentations etc.) Unpreparedness is judged as absence. 3/ Students must not switch study groups, unless the Head of Department of Czech for Foreigners explicitly approved it.
