Abstract
After the finishing the course the student will be able to define ethnology and the subject of its studies, to compare the Central-European and Balkan ethnology traditions, to orientate in organization of ethnological work in the Balkan countries, to handle basic terminology and ethnological heuristics, especially methodology and techniques and connected documentary techniques. The students of Balkan studies will apply a participant observation in a field research.

Lecture, class discussion, e-learning, literature study, homework, written test; the students of Balkan studies field research.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
Written exam: for passing the course min. 60 %. Prerequisites for exam: homework (e-learning), written test (blind map, possibility to repeat); students of Balkan studies: field research report. For the forth non-attendance one more homework. Minimal attendance 50 %. Student’s exchanges abroad, university events (excursions, lectures by foreign lecturers) are not included.
