Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide a survey of the development of the Croatian literature since 1945 to the present day. The characteristics of the dominant styles, genres, tendencies and creative methods is based on the contextual analysis of the most significant works of the period. Croatian literature is examined in the context of the domestic as well as European historical and cultural developments. The seminar is based on the intensive home reading and the individual as well as collective analysis of the relevant texts. On successful completion of the course student will acquire knowledge of the contemporary Croatian literature and he will deepen his skill to analyse and interpret a literary text.

Lectures, home reading, class discussion, e-learning, essay.
Assessment methods
Prerequisites for granting the credit: regular attendance (maximum of 3 absences during a semester) and thorough home preparation on weekly basis (unprepared student is going to be considered as absent), participation in class discussion, fulfilling all tasks in the ELF and handing in an essay. Final exam has a form of a written test. Final assessment consists of three criteria: test (50 %), essay (25 %), participation in class discussion, e-learning (25 %).
