Course objectives
The course consists in the preparation of the current issue of Re:Views (for issues to date see www.reviewsmagazine.net) by writing an article and/or carrying out other work related to running an online student journal. The topic of Issue IV that is to be published on May 15, 2017 is “Visual Culture” but the articles are not limited by this topic. Re:Views Magazine is a registered online periodical with its own ISSN number (2464-7306). It is published fully in English and it is closely associated with the Department of English and American Studies by whose students is the editorial board Re:Views Magazine, z.s. run. The course is based on workshop-like meetings during which the students learn how to write different types of articles as well as how the editorial processes of the magazine work.

  • The course is held on odd Wednesdays, 10:50-12:25 in the SAC. 1 March – topics, structure of articles + writing tips, copyright 15 March – first drafts and copyright discussion 29 March – final drafts discussion 12 April – preparation for typesetting, PR strategies 26 April – magazine management 10 May – photography

Teaching methods
The course is a workshop, a publishing office of an online student magazine. By consistent use of English, students will practice their speaking and writing skills. A lot of communication will and must be done between sessions.
Assessment methods
For the credit, a student must produce an article or contribute in other ways to the successful publication of the current issue of Re:Views.
