Course objectives
The course deals with the study of the Italian syntax both in its theoretical and practical features, above all connected to the linguistic use and variation. In particular the course will focus on the basic notions of the discipline (phrases, sentences and clauses), but also on the systems of focusing and cohesion, as well as the elements of syntactic innovations recently developed.
Syllabus
  • The students will identify and use the specialized terminology and contents of the discipline. In particular they will deepen: phrases, types of sentences, the sentence constituents, complex and compound clauses, subordinate clauses, functional sentences and the Italian word order.

Teaching methods
Lecture and practical activities: explanation, by the teacher, of the basic notions and problems and their application on appropriate linguistic material.
Assessment methods
Oral test and discussion on the research materials. The students who don't attend the courses have to set an alternative syllabus with the teacher.
