Abstract
The objective of the course consists in working on student’s final thesis. The course is based on the regular consultations with the teachers of the course. At the end of the course students will be able to define the topic of the final thesis; describe the methods he/she intends to apply in the final thesis; schedule the project of the final thesis; compose the plan of the final thesis; evaluate the resources relevant for the topic of the final thesis; present the text of his or her final thesis.
Key topics
The course prepares students for writing their final theses. It takes the form of an individual course. The students work independently in the course, studying the methodology of research, the principles of academic writing, and the formal aspects of writing a thesis. They are asked to submit assignments in an electronic form. Some of the assignments are exercises in various aspects of academic writing, others represent preparatory steps to writing the final thesis (delimitation of the topic, compiling working bibliography, collecting material).

Dále musí být práce vybavena prohlášením autora o původnosti práce, obsahem, průběžným poznámkovým aparátem a seznamem použitých pramenů a sekundární literatury. Rozsah bakalářské oborové práce činí 35 000–40 000 znaků včetně mezer (ca 20–25 normovaných stran). Do rozsahu se započítávají poznámky pod čarou a bibliografie, přílohy se nezapočítávají. Povinnou součástí práce jsou české a cizojazyčné resumé (900 znaků včetně mezer) a český a cizojazyčný výčet klíčových slov. Práce musí být prostřednictvím sekretariátu Semináře japonských studií odevzdána v jednom exempláři vázaném v pevných deskách, a to nejpozději 30 dnů před datem konání rozpravy. Do Informačního systému se bakalářská oborová práce neodevzdává. Poté, co student odevzdá tištěnou a vázanou práci, udělí vedoucí zápočet za předmět JAP320 Bakalářská oborová práce, čímž potvrzuje přijetí práce k rozpravě.
