Předmět tematicky navazuje na KRBcB19 Láska, ženy a soukromý život v antickém Řecku, ve kterém se probíralo postavení ženy a vývoj manželství. Jeho absolvování ale není podmínkou pro zapsání KRBcB22. Předpokládá se základní orientace v historii a mytologii starověkého Řecka a v literatuře klasického období.

Abstract (in Czech)
Cílem předmětu je představit fungování společnosti v Athénách v klasické době, tj. 5.-4. stol. př. n. l., objasnit dichotomii soukromé x veřejné sféry, cti x hanby, zákona x společenské morálky a vysvětlit vztahy mezi muži a ženami především v sexuální oblasti.
