Course objectives
The course provides students with a survey of various methodological approaches which can be used to elaborate on the topic of Doctoral Dissertation. The stress is laid on the method suitable for a particular student (or students). In the course of their studies students get acquainted with a chosen method in depth under supervision of their supervisors. At the end of the course, students will: • introduce various methodological approaches for elaboration of the assigned topic • justify a choice of method they are going to use • enumerate and explain fundamental principles of the chosen method • be well informed about main representatives and recommended literature for further studies

  • • Various methodological approaches to elaboration of given issues. • Explanation of fundamental principles of the method chosen for elaboration of Doctoral Dissertation. • An overview of main representatives and additional field specific literature
Literature
  • Literatura je předepsána individuálně podle probírané problematiky.
  • Literature is assigned individually according to issues discussed.
Teaching methods
The course is taught according to agreement between a student and a supervisor. For example: individual consultations, seminars of a group of PhD students. A part of teaching is a discussion about particular methods (their advantages and disadvantages, suitability for various topics, etc.)
Assessment methods
In order to gain credits, students have to meet all the requirements set by their supervisors.
