Course objectives
The aim of Summer School is to introduce interesting topics in the field of Information Science through lectures and workshops. Equally important for Summer School is networking: both internal (community creation) and external, consisting of meeting with lecturers and students of other LIS schools and institutions.
Learning outcomes
- identify and summarize important features of major LIS trends

  • Topics change according to foreign and Czech guests. They mostly focus on literature in cultural context, social innovation, information evaluation issues, research on information behavior.

Assessment methods
a) preparation for specialized topics For each of the four themes, the student will receive several articles in the course of the semester and prepare a short summary of them and write his opinion. The recommended length of preparation is 2 pages (standard page, includes 1800 characters including spaces). The student receives 1 point for each given assignment. b) preparation of the barcamp contribution Part of the course is a student Barcamp, where the program will be created directly by students. The task is to give an article (paper) on any topic (area of ​​interest, research, work experience, hobby) from the point of view of KISK student. The submission has two parts: submitting a post title and annotation. Then the whole article. The minimum length is 3 pages. There will be a vote before the course, where students will select the 16 most interesting topics that the authors then present. For submission of annotation and article the student receives 1 point. c) attending Summer School Participation in Barcamp, lectures and workshops is mandatory. All accompanying programs are optional. It is necessary to get 6 points from the work during the semester and attend all 5 days of Summer School. In case of non-fulfillment of the conditions, the possibility of repairs will be possible during the extended test period.
