Course objectives
Following the course AJL02004 English Grammar I, the objective of this course is to discuss morphology and syntax systematically, but with emphasis on practical use of English word and sentence structure. The course focuses on English verbs and variation in verb phrases, and on the clause structural patterns and their variations. The chapters covered are 5+6+8+10+12 from Biber et al.'s Longman student grammar of spoken and written English.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to understand the nuances of English grammar and will be able to apply their skills in practice. As a result, they will increase their proficiency in English.

Teaching methods
Practical seminars. There will be 7 seminars. Students are expected to have the handouts ready (printed or open on an electronic device) for each seminar and to read the chapters required.
Assessment methods
Assessment: attendance (students can miss 1 class), 6 e-tests (each e-test must be above 69.99%) + to submit an oral presentation in the exam period
