Course objectives
The seminar is designed for future teachers and imparts fundamental knowledge of didactics. On the one hand, scientifically based criteria and practical forms of lesson observation are developed in the course. Other important topics of the course are the functions, theoretical basis, structure and specifics of curricula and framework curricula relevant to teaching; the development of an overview of textbooks for German as a foreign language at Czech secondary schools and their critical analysis as well as further insights into textbook research; Justification, theoretical foundation and didactic implementation and reflection of work with audiovisual media in the classroom; the use of digital media in the classroom as well as reflection on the didactic and pedagogical consequences and linguistic-communicative and social consequences of digitalisation. The course content is closely linked to the internship and the seminar on practical reflection.
Learning outcomes
The students gain basic knowledge and practical experience in the criterion-guided observation of lessons. They know relevant curricula and framework curricula as well as important textbooks for German as a foreign language with adolescent learners and can critically analyse them on the basis of scientific criteria. They can work with audiovisual media in the classroom in a didactically reflected way and reflect on the role and relevance of digital change for teaching. They are able to independently familiarise themselves with various topics on the basis of scientific literature and to make the knowledge gained usable for their practice.
