Course objectives
The course reflects the position of the teaching librarian as an important actor in connecting the space of the school and the public library.
The aim of the course is to offer participants a basic insight into topics related to the practice of a teaching librarian: heterogeneous study group - current didactic approaches - information, reading and media literacy as teaching topics.
Joint search for answers to the questions: How to choose a topic for an educational program with knowledge of the target group? How to design the structure of the program How to work with educational goals and the development of key competencies in library programs intended for students of all types of schools? How to approach the evaluation of education?
Learning outcomes
The graduate of the course will primarily have the following competencies:
Choose a topic for the educational program with knowledge of the target group;
Design the structure of the program;
Work with educational goals and the development of key competencies in library programs intended for students of all types of schools;
Apply the basic psychodidactic principles of education;
Approach the evaluation of education.
Syllabus
  • The course has a combined form, combining face-to-face and online learning activities.
  • 5. 3./Module 1 - Introductory online learning activity (teaching librarian competence, reflection and sharing of experiences, activation approaches in information education, cooperation strategy of libraries and schools, professional resources)
  • 16. 3./Module 2 - Intensive face-to-face workshop (design of educational programs, E-U-R framework, information, media and reading literacy)
  • 2. 4./Module 3 - Online learning activity (learning objectives, teaching librarian and curriculum, developing competences in information education)
  • 16. 4./Module 4 - Online learning activity (inclusive design of education in the practice of a teaching librarian, psychodidactics, methods, approaches, evaluation of education)
  • 11. 5./Module 5 - Final face-to-face reflective meeting (presentation of outputs, reflection, feedback, sharing)

Online seminar; face-to-face workshop; lecture, consultation; individualized self-study (e-learning)
Assessment methods
Conditions for successful completion of the program:
Active participation in two face-to-face meetings;
Active participation in at least one online meeting;
Processing and submission of relevant outputs
