Course objectives
The doctoral student prepares 5 theses in the range of 3 to 5 pages according to the requirements of the professional work and after agreement with the supervisor, who approves the adequacy of the theses. When choosing, the doctoral student chooses a variety of topics, in terms of time (older literature, literature of the 19th century, literature of the 20th and early 21st centuries) and in terms of the three basic literary genres (poetry, prose, drama). He sends the thesis to his supervisor, by agreement, in advance of the exam. The chairman of the branch council sends the final version of the thesis to the members of the examination committee no later than 5 days before the examination.
Learning outcomes
During the preparation of the theses, the student shall be able:
- to orientate themselves in the problems of literary studies;
- to actively and creatively use their current knowledge in the doctoral studies;
- to apply their knowledge in an innovative way in the texts of the theses;
- to reflect upon their own professional reserves.

  • Basic topics according to the choice of the PhD student. Students of specializations can make use of one specialization topic in theses.
