Prerequisites
No choir experience is required, just an interest in singing, especially Ukrainian folk music, which makes up the majority of the repertoire. We welcome both experienced singers and complete beginners. It is necessary to be able to read the Cyrillic alphabet and have a knowledge of Ukrainian at A1 level. The course is also suitable for students wishing to expand their knowledge of Ukrainian and looking for a university environment to do so.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
During the course, students will improve their singing skills, learn the basics of music notation, gain experience singing in a Ukrainian choir and performing at concerts as a choir Podolyanočka.
Learning outcomes
Students will learn to sing specific songs rehearsed during the semester.
Syllabus
  • Theory: notes, note length, pause, pause length, beat.
  • Songs: Podoljanočka, Sonce nyzeňko, Porizala pal´čyk, Rozpriahajte chlopci konej, Oj u luzi červona kalyna, Cvite teren, Son.
Teaching methods
A short theoretical part at the beginning of the lesson, then a choral rehearsal.
Assessment methods
Regular attendance.
