- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to present the most significant historical events and phenomena of the 20th century, with a focus on European developments.
- Learning outcomes
- After graduating the course, students will be able to: explain the significance of major events in European historical development and explain the characteristics of major social processes and phenomena. Students will understand the issues at hand, be able to place them in a broader context, and interpret them.
- Syllabus
- World War I. The Paris Peace Treaty and the new post-war order. International politics in the interwar period. The Soviet Revolution. Developments in Central Europe. World War II. The aftermath of World War II. The Cold War. The emergence of the Eastern Bloc and its historical development. The emergence of the Western Bloc and its historical development. The collapse of the Soviet Bloc.
