- Abstract
- The aim of the course is to introduce the basic definition and content of leisure activities in the contemporary context of experiential and reflective learning. The course consists of three blocks, aiming to provide insight into the possibilities and methods of pedagogical work within the Czech tradition of experiential and reflective learning, represented by the Holiday School Lipnice, z.s. (psl.cz). The pedagogical approach of the Holiday School Lipnice and its contribution to personal and social development will be explained.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to: I. understand the principles of experiential reflective learning, the pedagogical approach represented by the Holiday School Lipnice (PŠL), and its contribution to personal and social development, identify and characterize selected groups of program resources, discuss the use of program resources to achieve specific activity goals. II. As part of the expedition, students will: gain authentic experience with the expedition-type program and acquire basic expedition skills, actively participate in the preparation of the expedition, reflect on their experiences both during the expedition and after its completion. III. Students will be able to: name and methodologically anchor the individual parts of the expedition program, understand group dynamics within the expedition program, actively listen to others during the reflection of the expedition program, discuss the significance of individual program resources that contribute to group dynamics within the expedition program, seek possible program alterations for the expedition program.

- Human, society and education in free time. Conception and function of free time. Typology of free time activities in relationship with age, gender, education, locality and other variables. Free time activities, classification, significance, methodes and forms of work. Origin and significance of organized activity in free time (YMCA, YWCA, Sokol, scouting, League of Forest Wisdom, Czech Capming Union etc.). Definition of games and their atributes, educational significance of games. Theories of games, their segmentation. History of games, metamorphosis of functions, motives, attitudes and aims of games in single develop ethapes of pedagogic. How to create and change the games. Danger of gambling (so-called gamblers games). Associations and organisations caring for freetime education in the Czech Republic. Overview of associations and organisations caring for freetime education in chosen European countries. Legal rules, laws, ordinances and norms for work with children and youth and for organising various actions.

- Lecture and seminar – explanation, group discussion, reading, group work To complete the course, the workload is calculated as 125 hours (5 ECTS credits): - Participation in lectures (30 hours) - Independent study of professional literature (20 hours) - Solving ongoing tasks based on the analysis of sources and own work (25 hours) - Preparation for the final test (20 hours) - Preparation for the final project (30 hours)
