Abstract
The course has the character of training. In addition to basic information about working with a client, students train in a real situation - establishing contact, active listening, questioning techniques, etc. The student's active involvement is assumed. Part of the course is devoted to crisis intervention and the basics of supervision.
Learning outcomes
Students willl be able to: establish contact with a client, formulate an order, handle the process of working with the client.

  • Help and social control. Types of help.
  • Counseling, procedures, diagnostic problems. Classical clinical approach, humanistic approach.
  • Relationship with the client, (non)directiveness in communication with the client
  • Transactional analysis in working with the client
  • Worker preparation, work ethics, professionalism.
  • Orders and their acquisition, contract.
  • Questioning techniques and tools in working with the client.
  • Termination and evaluation of work.
  • Problem situations and types of clients. Crisis intervention, principles of CI. Basics of supervision.

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
Face-to-face teaching. It will be about several block meetings on specified dates according to the schedule. Attendance at these meetings is mandatory.

Cannot be completed in a substitute form. The student must be physically present. Not suitable for students currently on Erasmus, etc., and for students with severe hearing loss without compensatory aids, and for students with limited knowledge of the Czech language. (The participation of an assistant is not suitable.)
