Course objectives
Introduction to subject of Computational biology and biomedicine, generally as well as focusing on the Epidemiology and modeling specialization. Introduction to selected topics, based both on the fundamentals of their theory and on giving an explanation of some historical events and consequences.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- understand the structure of the study programme in the whole, particular courses and their continuities;
- know important milestones in history of mathematical applications in biology and medicine;
- understand basic approaches used for biological and clinical data analysis and modelling;
- understand objectives and scientific background of the Epidemiology and modeling specialization;
- write an essey about their reasons to study the chosen study programme, about their ideas of study contents and about realizing their potentials after graduating.
