Course objectives
Introductory seminar for new students about studying and examining Masaryk University's rules, Department of Geography, history of geography, possibilities of study, and geosciences research.
Learning outcomes
The student will be after completing the course
– know the basic study regulations (SZŘ MU)
– familiarized with the study organization at the Institute of Geography
– oriented with the research activity at the institute
– familiar with the history of geography in Brno and the Czech Republic, with other geographical workplaces, organizations, geographical magazines
- master essential skills in using citations from professional literature
– know the rules for a uniform formal form of a text document and presentation
– introduced to the possibilities of studying abroad

Information seminar, mandatory attendance.
Assessment methods
It is possible to get a total of 10 points from the answers, 2 points from the peer evaluation + 3 bonus points (bonus for correcting the text after the peer evaluation, for answering in the discussion forum, and for filling in the final answer) Twelve points and good attendance are required for credit (one unexcused absence is tolerated). Information on all activities is provided in the interactive outline, notebook, and dates can also be found in the IS calendar. Substitute fulfillment of credit conditions is not possible!
