Course objectives
Upon successful completion of the course lectures secondary metabolites student; defines the basic relationships between primary and secondary metabolism; is able to explain the synthesis of the major groups of secondary metabolites; demonstrate their effects on living organisms, in relation to the structure of these substances; analyze the possibility of further discoveries of new natural products and their use; summarize lessons learned about secondary metabolites and their use in human medicine; evaluate the use of the acquired knowledge for future orientation in a large area of natural substances.

The student is examined from one area of secondary metabolites, which selects.During examination is continuously asked about fundamental representatives from other parts of the subject.
