Prerequisites
We expect that the students will have interest not just in the topics themselves but also will be willing to make reflections and share their experiences with others. Because of the final simulation exercise it is expected that the student will have a general overview of the envvironmental issues.

Course objectives
The course is reacting on the contemporary requirements of the employers to posess certain level of soft skills at distinct job positions. In the course students will develop their soft skills and ways of presenting their own results. This will help students to make smooth transition into the professional life and also to succeed in the long-term.

The main objectives of the course are:
  • to acquire an overview of the effective team work
  • to examine team work ina group or a team
  • to understand tha basics of management focused on managing others, project management and selfmanagement
  • to acquire basic overview of the presentation skills
  • to conduct a presentation in front of the audience and to obtain feedback on one's performance
  • will exercise feedback giving and obtaining
  • will take a breather and discover new ways of leraning distinct from the traditional ways
  • Syllabus
    • The course is divided into five thematical blocks. The sixth bloch is devoted to a final simulation exercise. The lectures take 4 hours and are given in the 2 week cycle.
    • I. Introductory lecture:
    • expectations of the course participants

    • faults and distortion in the cognition of other people
    • methods of deepening self-reflection.
    • II. Knowing myself through selfreflection - feedback

    • feedback in the communication, feedback giving and obtaining recommendations
    • management basic - what people need to perform their job
    • III. Verbal communication - argumentation training

    Teaching methods
    Set of methods using the participants' experiences is used (e.g. role play with discussion). These methods are accompanied with presentation on selected topics.
    Assessment methods
    For succesfull passing the students are required to:
    1) actively participate at least on five blocks
    2) give a presentation on a selected topic
    3) actively participate on the preparation and realisation of the final simulation
    4) to deliver a final assignment - reflecting on the course contribution for the student
