Basic courses in Hydrogeology and Groundwater Hydraulics are recommended.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to teach students how to prepare a technical report of a project of a groundwater exploition well. This is a specific skill required in water management tasks aimed at enhancing water resources.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- select the appropriate technology for drilling a groundwater-supply well;
design the final depth of a well in a specific geological environment;
design the appropriate diameter of a well in a specific geological environment;
design perforated and unperforted casing intervals;
prepare graphical documentation of the well design;
write a complete technical report of the groundwater-supply well.
Syllabus
  • Requirements for the design of the groundwater-supply well
  • Determination of suitable depth, diameter and well equipment
  • Determination of the appropriate well excavation/drilling technology
  • Text part of the project
  • Graphical annexes, technical drawings of the well project
  • Completion of the project, text part and annexes.

Verbal defence of the project of groundwtaer-supply well.
Náhradní absolvování
The course can be completed after returning from a stay abroad by self-study and subsequent preparation of a technical project and its defence.
