  • Basic principles of evolutionary ecology, origin of parasitism, complex life cycles, parasite specialisation, host specificity, co-evolution of parasites and hosts, evolution of parasite life strategies, phenotypic plasticity and adaptation, parasite body size and fecundity, strategy of colonisation and transmission, virulence, host manipulation, aggegation and distibution of parasites, parasite population, epidemiological models, regulation, competition, parasite niche, infracommunity versus component community, biogeographical and evolutionary aspects, case studies.
