Course objectives
At the end of this course the students should be able to: understand and explain the functions of neural system; define basic structures and their connections; describe cerebral mechanisms which make part in collecting and processing information, its storage in memory and further use, in activating efectors of the organism; describe basic physiological mechanisms determining basic forms of human behavior.

  • Brain and behaviour.
  • Brain tissue metabolism. Ontogenetic development and plasticity of neural tissue.
  • Mutual trophic relations among neurons and the target tissue.
  • Information transmission in the nervous system.
  • Propagation of the action potential along the neural fibre.
  • Synapse.
  • Processing information in the NS.
  • Sensoric physiology.
  • Proprioception
  • Viscerosenzoric perception.
  • Motoric systems.
  • Speach functions.
