Course objectives
The aim of this subject is an introduction of proteomics as discipline dealing with characterization of proteome and individual proteins; methods for their characterization including higher levels of protein structure. To provide students with outline of methods for preparation of protein samples, basic methods for protein separation and characterization of proteins by mass spektrometry including principles of data processing.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to: understand to basics of proteomics explain principles of basic proteomic methods used in subsequent practical course (C8302) propose appropriate approach for various kinds of proteomic experiments understand to interpretation of selected types of proteomic data

Teaching methods
The main teaching method are lectures that include particular examples from the own scientific praxis of participating teachers and demonstration of the solution of particular problems via individual tools of recent proteomics.
