Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
During the course of the semester the students will form groups and analyze real data from high-througput profiling technologies. The main aim of the course is to teach the students to cooperate and perform the analysis including the data interpretation and presentation of results as a team.
Learning outcomes
After the course the student will be able to: - comprehend the biological background of the data and how it influences the data analysis - perform the data analysis of an a-priori unknown dataset (description of dataset limitations, descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, ...) - perform data analysis as part of a team - present the results of the analysis
Syllabus
  • The data will be selected from the following domains: - next generation sequencing data (genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics - microbiome) - mass spectrometry data (metabolomics, proteomics)
