- Course objectives
- Basic knowledge necessary for field botanical research will be taught, including information on identification handbooks, regional floras, maps, databases, herbarium collections and methods of collecting herbarium specimens. A scientific herbarium collection will be visited. In the field, methods of botanical recording and geobotanical research will be demonstrated, including establishment of vegetation plots.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- understand basic botanical data and know information sources;
- acquire information and data necessary for their own field research;
- collect and prepare herbarium specimens;
- make botanical field records;

- six lectures (6 x 2 hours); two days of field work aimed at methods of plant recording and establishment of vegetation plots

- Credit course: field diary from the outdoor training; establishment of three vegetation plots in different vegetation types (forest, meadow and a third vegetation type chosen by the student).
