Course objectives
The objective of field research in human geography is practical application of advanced methodical procedures in field research and demonstration of complex phenomena of human geography. Course can be linked to solution of some project and then it will be oriented at field confirmation of a hypothesis. Students will establish basic knowledge, besides other also data processing ethics.
Learning outcomes
Student completing the course will be able:
- to apply selected basic as well as advanced methods of field research;
- to present the research outcomes in suitable manner.
Syllabus
  • Field research takes place in a particular region. Students are assigned their particular tasks and they collect primary data. Part of the field research is a presentation of a broader project objectives and discussion of its methodology.

Teaching methods
The principal method of teaching is field research, in which the students via interviews, surveys or other techniques collect information on a particular topic in a particular region. These cannot be gained from secondary data, or other existing databases.
Assessment methods
Students are credited for the case study, which was a product of team work. Each student will present his/her part of the case study.
