- Abstract
- The Geology Around Us course introduces students to the basics of practical field geology. The aim is to provide students with the main skills not only for geological field observations, but also for preparation before a trip to the field, or for conducting field teaching and trying everything out practically in the field. The course is also suitable for students of natural science teaching, as a supplement to their own teaching of biology, chemistry and geography.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, students will...
- be able to plan and prepare fieldwork, identify geologically interesting sites and search for relevant information for fieldwork.
- be proficient in field techniques and processing methods appropriate for student work in the field, both for individual and group work.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to...
- Explain how to make practical measurements and observations of geological phenomena in the field and formulate different types of assignments and questions for them.
- present the results of their project and actively participate in discussion, giving and receiving constructive feedback on the work of their classmates. - Key topics
