- Abstract
- The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with institutions in which the graduates of the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University and other geographers find employment. Students are acquainted with the focus and mission of specific institutions, as well as with the work of geographers working in these institutions and with current projects and research or practical goals that the representatives of these institutions solve.
- Learning outcomes
Student completing the course will be able to:
- describe how theoretically acquired knowledge is applied in practice and apply it independently;
- be aware of their employment opportunities and understand the strengths and limitations of a geography graduate in professional practice;
- successfully manage the transition from student life to professional employment, find a job in the field, and successfully complete recruitment and selection procedures;
- analyze real-world professional projects with regard to their objectives, processes, roles of individual stakeholders, and achieved outcomes;
- explain which competencies (both professional and soft skills) are essential in practice and how they are applied in specific projects.
