Anotace
This course examines women's roles in contemporary politics and media, focusing on political representation, decision-making participation, and media portrayals. Students explore candidacies, leadership, parties, and quotas from a comparative perspective, with attention to the Czech and European context.
Výstupy z učení
Students understand the relationship between gender, politics, and media; are familiar with key subfields of political science on women's representation; can formulate research questions; and critically discuss contemporary challenges to women's political participation globally and in the Czech/European context.

Přístupy, postupy a metody používané ve výuce
The course combines lectures, seminar discussions, and independent research. Students engage with scholarly literature, participate in structured seminars, and conduct original qualitative research through an in-depth interview with a woman active in politics.
Způsob ověření výstupů z učení a požadavky na ukončení
Seminar participation (6 points), research interview with written reflection (10 points), and a final written exam (8 points). Total 24 points; graded: A: 23–24 points; B: 21–22; C: 19–20; D: 17–18; E: 15–16; F: 0–14.
