Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand the essence and mission of the object of Environmental Law, to explain its functions, to argue its justness. The student will be able to work with the sources of Environmental Law (general and special part). The student will be able to create the legal view for the concrete cases, to assign the competent authority and formulate the appropriate filling.
Learning outcomes
After completion of this course, the student will be able to: - analyze legal regulation on the protection of individual - interpret selected legal provisions - solve practical cases in complexity - orient himself in relations between various sources of law.
Syllabus
  • Environmental Law – introduction, essential concepts, principles, tools of legal regulation, sources Stakeholders in environmental protection. Public administration and its forms. Legal regime of air protection; Legal regime of water protection; Legal regime of the agricultural land resources; Legal regime of forest protection; Legal regime of Nature and Landscape protection - site protection and protection of plants including trees; Protection of fauna (animals), trade in endangered species; Protection of game and fish and protection of animals against cruelty; Legal regulation of waste management Legal regulation of chemicals management Legal regime of the protection against ionizing radiation.

Teaching methods
Lectures according to given syllabus.An analytical look at the contemporary legislation and the judicial acts connected therewith and the application relating to the subject to be lectured. Power point presentations will be used and students will be given an interactive approach during the lecture. Hence students will be given a chance to ask questions regarding to the subject of the lecture. Seminar: exercising of basic concepts and institutes in relation to lectures, consequential discussion, solving of practical model situations, working with judicial decisions, legal regulations and other documents.
Assessment methods
Student has to actively attend all seminars, work out all the example cases and eventually fulfill all other assigned tasks. All that shall be done in compliance with teacher’s request. If the requirements to obtain credits were not fulfilled, student has to fulfill an additional task in compliance with teacher’s request.
