Cíle předmětu
1. To provide Czech attorneys with the ability to spot U.S. intellectual property issues in connection with international business transactions between Czech and U.S. companies;
2. Use a case study approach to provide a framework for the presentation topics and classroom discussions relating to such topics;
3. To provide the students with tools for following changes in U.S. intellectual property laws given the rapid changes in such laws over the last 5 years.

This is a lecture course to provide an overview of U.S. intellectual property and related technology protection and transfer laws. The lecture will be facilitated by a PowerPoint presentation of the various topics of the course outline. Examples of the implementation of the legal principles will be provided based upon a case study of a proposed joint venture between U.S. and Czech companies which involves both background U.S. intellectual property and jointly developed technology of the Czech company and U.S. company. Handouts will be provided of the case study and portions of the PowerPoint presentations.
