- Course objectives
- The aim of this subject is to gain knowledge of international commercial arbitration, its institutes and regulation. The focus will be given to the UNCITRAL Model Law, New York Convention and ICC Rules. The course will lead the students through the particular phases of international commercial arbitration.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the students should be able: to understand the main institutes of international commercial arbitration (e.g. arbitration agreement, arbitrator, applicable law, arbitral award, setting aside procedure, recognition of foreign awards); to understand the regulation in UNCITRAL Model Law, New York Convention and ICC Rules; to write arbitration agreement; to prepare request for arbitration and answer to such request.
