Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are identified in the cognitive, psychomotor and attitudinal. The subject is classified as a theoretical and practical with a superiority of practical activities in relation with nursing care. The tuition is situated in the skill labs where the clinical enviroment is simulated. There are used the modern approaches according the evidence based healthcare during the lectures. At the end of this course, students will be able to: - Understand basic nursing terminology - Understand the related literature - Identify the problems of the patient and on that basis to formulate nursing diagnosis (handle orientation in the field of nursing process) - Define the requirements for an effective and holistic health care. - To provide nursing care for people with immobilization bandage - Apply their knowledge in the preparation and assistance to specific examination (biopsy, endoscopy) - Implement activities based on acquired knowledge when submitting different forms of medication, injections, training and assistance infusion, transfusion - Implement the nursing process within the preoperative and postoperative care for patients - Implement the nursing process in the care of a patient with a stoma
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to: • administer drugs in all forms (oral, eye, ear, nose, skin, rectal medication administration, the airways - inhalation, oxygen therapy) • prepare and administer injections, infusions, transfusions and blood derivatives • provide peripheral venous access • student is able to provide pre-operative and post-operative care for the patient • provide care to the patient with stoma • be able to prepare and assist in special performance (eg puncture, endoscopy) • provide nursing care to the patient with immobilized bandage
Syllabus
  • All forms of administration of drugs (per os, the eye, ear, nose, skin, rectal, airways - inhalations, oxygen).
  • Injections (i.d., s.c., i.m., i.v.).
  • Preparation and assistance in infusions, transfusions and blood derivatives.
  • Ensuring peripheral venous access.
  • Nursing process in   preoperative and postoperative care.
  • The nursing process in the care of a patient with a stoma  .
  • Of nurses in providing training and assistance for a specialized examination (biopsy, endoscopy).
  • Nursing process in individuals with     immobilization bandage.

Assessment methods
Active participation, 100% attendance. Demonstrate knowledge and skills in continuous assessment - written tests during the semester (at least 75% success rate). Successful completion of the theoretical and practical examination.
