- Abstract
- Individual Professional Nursing Practice I is a practical subject that follows the subject Professional Nursing Practice I. It integrates knowledge from the theory and practice of nursing, basic scientific disciplines and natural, social and behavioral sciences. The subject takes the form of direct and indirect patient care, in accordance with the current legal regulations, and allows students to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired through the study of theoretical and practical disciplines in the conditions of a healthcare provider. The objectives of the subject are identified at the cognitive, psychomotor and attitudinal levels: knowledge of health promotion and disease prevention; consolidation of nursing activities by implementing the nursing process in the conditions of healthcare practice; implementation of individualized nursing care based on knowledge of the biopsychosocial and spiritual needs of patients; consolidation of professional skills and habits; acquisition of work organization, independence and cooperation in a team; formation of professional qualities of a general nurse; consolidation of communication skills and acquisition of work with nursing and medical documentation. The practice is focused on promoting health and preventing the onset of disease, strengthening nursing, diagnostic and therapeutic activities, according to the principles of evidence-based nursing (Evidence Based Nursing). IIt is implemented in faculty hospitals in Brno or at other healthcare providers. The practice takes place in the inpatient and outpatient parts of internal medicine, in geriatric care workplaces and in long-term and follow-up care workplaces.
